
Pan Seared Sirloin Steak with Mushroom Sauce
Ingredients
Sirloin Steak
- 4 4 oz Sirloin Steaks
- Kosher salt to taste
- Ground black pepper to taste
- 4 tbsp Butter
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 4 cloves Garlic, smashed
Mushroom Sauce
- 8 oz Sliced Portobello mushrooms
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp Beef broth
- 1 cup half and half (or heavy cream)
- Parsley for garnish
Instructions
Steaks
- Prep steaks by seasoning with salt and pepper to taste
- Preheat cast iron on medium-high heat. Add two tablespoons of butter, Italian seasoning and smashed garlic cloves to skillet
- Add steaks to skillet and cook until brown and to desired doneness. about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare
- Remove steaks from skillet and set aside
Mushroom Sauce
- In the same skillet, add remaining two tablespoons of butter and melt over medium-high heat
- Stir in sliced mushrooms, season with salt and pepper, cook for 2-3 minutes or until tender
- Add beef broth and let cook for another minute
- Add half and half (or heavy cream), and cook for two minutes or until heated through
- Plate steaks and top with mushroom sauce
- Garnish with dried parsley, serve and enjoy!
