Pan Seared Sirloin Steak with Mushroom Sauce

Ingredients
  

Sirloin Steak

  • 4 4 oz Sirloin Steaks
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper to taste
  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 4 cloves Garlic, smashed

Mushroom Sauce

  • 8 oz Sliced Portobello mushrooms
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp Beef broth
  • 1 cup half and half (or heavy cream)
  • Parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

Steaks

  • Prep steaks by seasoning with salt and pepper to taste
  • Preheat cast iron on medium-high heat. Add two tablespoons of butter, Italian seasoning and smashed garlic cloves to skillet
  • Add steaks to skillet and cook until brown and to desired doneness. about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare
  • Remove steaks from skillet and set aside

Mushroom Sauce

  • In the same skillet, add remaining two tablespoons of butter and melt over medium-high heat
  • Stir in sliced mushrooms, season with salt and pepper, cook for 2-3 minutes or until tender
  • Add beef broth and let cook for another minute
  • Add half and half (or heavy cream), and cook for two minutes or until heated through
  • Plate steaks and top with mushroom sauce
  • Garnish with dried parsley, serve and enjoy!
